Characters: Alecs, Heidi noona, a Korean female friend and myself
They checked-in in the hotel since Wednesday, the festival and fan meeting will be held on Friday night and Saturday night respectively. Wednesday afternoon, as Alecs was sitting on the hotel lounge, Alecs spotted U-Kiss arriving. She immediately went straight to the elevators waiting for them, luckily they queued behind her. When the lift arrived she went inside first, they followed her without any complains, they just rode the elevator with their manager and Alecs. Alecs just took a quick glance at them, she saw Xander smiled -__- and she smiled back at him. As she turns back her head, he asked Alecs in Korean, “where are you from?” and Alecs looked at him in confusion and saying, “sorry, I couldn’t speak and understand Korean.” This time, it’s Kevin who asked her in English and she replied, “Oh, I’m from the Philippines.” Xander asked, “Are you here as a tourist?” she said, “Yes. I’m going to watch the upcoming festival this weekend, you’ll be performing there, right?” They all looked surprised. Kevin asked me, “Do you recognize us?” “Of course. You’re the group called U-Kiss.” she said. “Wow! We have fans in the Philippines?” Xander said, his co-members and their manager are listening intently. “Yes, you have but not as many compared to other Asian countries.” Then the elevator stops at my floor, “Oh, got to go, this is my floor. Nice seeing you guys. Good luck on Friday’s performance.” she smiled and waved goodbye to them.After at least a few minutes, Alecs went back down to the hotel’s lounge. After a couple of hours, here came SS501, again she went ahead to the elevators. Again, she was lucky coz they queued behind her, yes like U-Kiss they didn’t use the service elevator. As the elevator arrived she quickly went inside and as she was about to hit her floor button, their manager spoke something in Korean. She looked at them surprised, saying to herself ‘it’s true that their manager is so arrogant’, she said “pardon?” Their manager looked perplexed, “Aren’t you guys going in? Don’t worry I won’t bite.” Alecs said. They all looked confused, “Hop in, so you guys can rest early.” she said. Then Kim Hyung Joon, the group’s maknae, hopped in and followed by Kim Kyu Jong and the rest went inside the lift giving up. As their manager pushed their floor button, Hyung Joon asked me stammering “Excuse me. Ahm, where are you from?” “I’m from the Philippines. I’m here to watch the upcoming festival this Friday night.” she answered smiling. There we rode in silence, but she knows that they’re looking at me stunned. As we reached my floor, she quickly said, “Nice seeing you guys. Good luck on Friday’s performance” then smiled. As she went out of the lift they still looked confused especially their manager.
After they had their dinner, Heidi noona and their Korean friend asked her if she wants to go with them to this area to buy some Korean stuff (coz Heidi noona loves Korean stuff), Alecs said it’s okay she’ll stay in our room. Few minutes after they’ve gone, our room doorbell rang, she thought it was them who left the card key and decided to get it back. Alecs didn’t look through the peak window of the door, she just immediately opened it. To her surprised it was the U-Kiss boys, Xander in front smiling widely. “Oh, aren’t you guys lost?” she said confused, but Kevin said, “May we come in before some of the fans see us?” “Oh sure, come in,” she said still shocked and confused.Our conversation goes:
“Sit down. What can I do to you guys?” she said.
“Oh, we just wanted to hang out” Xander said.
“Okay. Does your manager knows you’re here?” she asked.“Yeah, of course. Oh, we didn’t get your name?” Kevin said.
“Yeah, I’m Alecs.” she said, while shaking their hands and also introducing themselves.(Hi, I’m Alexander, Hi, I’m Kevin, I’m KiBum -__-, I’m Eli, I’m SooHyun, I’m DongHo, I’m Kiseop)
“KiBum? SooHyun? DongHo? Kiseop? Pardon my pronunciation. I’m not used to Korean names, I might mispronounce your names.” Alecs said.Then Xander asked me, “How old are you?”
But before she could answer that question, the doorbell rang again, “Excuse me, I’ll get the door.” she said smiling. Again she didn’t look through the peak window of the door, she opened it widely, and there she saw the SS501 boys smiling. Though surprised, Alecs smiled back and asked them to come in, in which they willingly went inside. They were greeted by KiBum in Korean of course, as she close the door; Alecs said “What’s up, guys?”
The conversation went:
“Just wanted to hang around, too.” HyungJoon said.“Okay, what kind of hang around do you like?” she asked.
“Introduce yourself again to our hyungs.” KiBum said in English (?).
“Yeah, I’m Alecs.” she said while handing my hand for a shake. Just like what U-Kiss did, they also introduced themselves.(Hi, I’m HyungJoon, I’m JungMin, I’m HyunJoong, I’m KyuJong and I’m YoungSaeng)
“Now, that we know each other.. what you guys wanna do?” she asked confused.“Noona, how old are you?” Xander asked, remembering his hanging question.
“I’m 25.” she said hesitantly.They all said, “Ooh”.
She shrugged.“Do Filipinos love Korean music?” Eli asked.
“Most Filipinos prefer the Western music, but there are some of us, who appreciates kpop, jpop, cpop.” she said.“What else you wanna know about the Philippines?” Alecs asked.
“Sorry, I'm not good with geography, but where exactly is the Philippines?” Xander asked.“Me too, I’m not good with it. Philippines is below Taiwan and above Australia.” she said uncertain.
“Who’s your favorite among us, SS501 and U-Kiss?” HyungJoon asked.“Are you used to this kind of question?” asking them.
“Yes.” They answered in chorus.
She notice that some of the members of U-Kiss and SS501 who are not good in speaking English are whispering to their respective representatives/translators.
“Among U-Kiss’ my favorites are Alexander, KiBum and Kiseop.” Alecs said but HyungJoon interrupted her.“You like my brother, so you like me too?” he asked eagerly.
“Yeah, I like you (pausing looking at his reaction, he reacted happily) but my favorite among you (SS501) guys are KyuJong and YoungSaeng.” HyungJoon immediately frowns and the others laughed.“How could that be?” he asked.
“I don’t know, I can’t explain. Why? Do you guys compete when it comes to looks?” she asked teasingly.Everybody laughs. KiBum ‘comforted’ his brother at the same time laughing.
Our group conversation ended here. They have to leave early to sleep and have their rest coz they still have to practice tomorrow.
What a way to end my day. ;)
Thursday, she woke up early, after having a quick breakfast; she headed downstairs and stayed in the hotel lounge. Then the SS501 boys saw me, they smiled and waved at me, they we’re heading to have their practice. After a couple of hours, here came Super Junior. This time since they are too many, she strategically chose the elevator were Han Geng is waiting; luckily he’s with KiBum as well as KyuHyun, HeeChul and one manager. As the elevator’s door open, she quickly went inside and they also went inside without complaints. She was surprised. While inside my phone rang, before she answered the phone she took a quick glance at them smiling, to my surprise they were smiling too. Answering my phone, “Yes ate Heidi?” it was a short call, thank goodness. KiBum asked, “Excuse me, may I ask where are you from?”. “I’m from the Philippines.” Alecs answered him smiling and she noticed that Han Geng, Heechul and Kyuhyun are looking at her, “I’m going to watch the festival tomorrow.” she said before the awkwardness show. Suddenly, the lift reached my floor, she turned around to them quickly and said, “Nice to see you guys. Good luck on your performance tomorrow.” As she step out of the elevator she saw them asking KiBum what did she said and as before the elevator door closes, they all smiled and waved goodbye to me, HeeChul shouting, “room number”, Alecs thinks he’s asking her room number.
As like what she did yesterday, she went down again after a few minutes of that experience with some of the Super Junior boys. While waiting for T-Max, there are a lot of boy bands that are already coming in. Finally, T-Max arrived, again she quickly chose the nearest lift and fortunately they are behind me waiting too. It’s almost lunch time, ate Heidi keeps on texting me to come and eat lunch with them in our room. As we entered the lift, she took a quick glance at them, they we’re looking at me with curiosity and she smiled at them. MinChul asked something to me in Korean and she replied, “Oh, sorry I can’t understand Korean.” He said then in broken English, “Are you a foreigner? Where you from?” Alecs answered him smiling, “Yes, I’m from the Philippines. I’m here to watch the festival tomorrow.” Silence fell as we reach her floor, she turn back at them saying, “Nice to see you. Good luck on tomorrow’s performance.”
Lunch passed by quickly, in the afternoon as we three headed to the grocery, the elevator we’re getting into is with the Super Junior boys – HeeChul, Han Geng, LeeTeuk, KyuHyun and a manager (of course). We’re hesitating to get inside but HeeChul said in broken English, “Oh, it’s you. Come, come.” Alecs smiled and got inside saying while my friends at my tail, “Oh, you did remember me. On your way to your practice?” KyuHyun answered me this time, “Yes, you?” “Oh, we’re going to buy some groceries.” she answered while our elevator door opens as we reach the ground floor, we waved goodbye to them. Heidi noona asked her if she knows them, she said not personally but yeah, rode the elevator with them this morning.
That night, Heidi noona and our Korean friend, went outside again but this time they were going to have dinner outside so they left early. She was surfing the net, when our doorbell rang, peeking through the door hole she saw, Super Junior guys, yes, the 13 of them! She asked them confused, “Excuse me, I think you are on the wrong floor?” Siwon answered, “No, we really went here to hang out.” She answered confused, “Hang out? Here? Ok, come in. Sorry our space is small it’s good for us 3.” They all went in and sat in semi-circle on the floor, and they saw my lappy, Heechul asked, “What are you doing?” Still surprised, she answered smiling, “Oh, just browsing.” The conversation was like the one with U-Kiss and SS501. Kyuhyun asked my name in broken English “Your name?” Alecs answered smiling, “I’m Alecs from the Philippines.” Then Leeteuk, said, “Ok, Hi I’m Leeteuk” then everyone followed (I’m EunHyuk, I’m Kibum, I’m Yesung, I’m Kangin, I’m Sungmin, I’m Ryeowook, I’m Han Geng, I’m Kyuhyun, I’m Heechul, I’m Donghae I’m Shindong and I’m Siwon). We shook hands and bowed of course. They asked her where is Philippines, how are the Filipino ELFs and when they asked who is/are her favorites they all got tensed.. hehe.
She replied, “ Are you sure, you guys ready to hear this?” Smiling Alecs said, “My favorites are Han Geng, Heechul and Kyuhyun.” And they all said, “whoa…” and then Kibum said, “Alecs noona, we have to go, we still need to prepare some stuff for tomorrow.” They bid goodbye as she said, “Nice to meet you all, Good luck for tomorrow.”
After 30 minutes SJ left, the doorbell rang again, peaking she saw T-Max waiting at her door. She excitedly opened it and smiled wildly, “Yes? What can I do for you?” Minchul said, “We wanna meet you, can we come in?” To her happiness, she said, “yes, of course, come in.” They all went in and the rapper and the magnae was so shy that they bowed at her. The same thing happened, self-introduction, Q and As and after a few minutes of chatting, they bid goodbye too.
